TRANSPORTATION FOR PATIENTS
 | Our volunteer drivers transport patients to hospitals in Toronto,
Hamilton, Mississauga and Brampton for treatment, as well as various
other locations. Transportation
is one of the most necessary functions of patient services. At Cancer
Assistance Services of Halton Hills we have many drivers who
work tirelessly taking patients to and from treatments and appointments.
Unlike some organizations, our drivers take at the most 1 or 2 patients at a
time so patients do not wait following their treatments. |
| Our drivers are sensitive
to all the patients needs. We are at the point of supporting more
than 400 patients since our inception following the closure of the Canadian
Cancer Society office in Georgetown |
SUPPORT
| Emotional support groups for cancer patients and significant
others. |
| Transportation to treatment centres - 1,000's of
Km's per month. |
| Group Oncology dietician counselling |
| Babysitting for mothers in treatment |
| Loan materials - hospital beds, walkers, canes,
wigs, turbans, temporary prosthesis, videos and books |
VISITS
